ALL ABOARD! For a magical holiday adventure at SHINING TIME STATION.

The week before Christmas has all your friends at SHINING TIME STATION wrapped up in the holiday bustle. As the adults bicker over who will play Santa's Helper in the holiday pageant, Matt and Tanya are left to play with Vickie, a little girl unwilling to experience the joys of the season. A mysterious passenger, Mr. Nicholas (Lloyd Bridges), makes a lasting impression while waiting for his train, "The Northern Star." He has the strongest effect on Vickie, who receives a gift from Mr. Nicholas that no amount of money could buy - he teaches her the spirit of the holidays. Adding to the enchantment all your favorites from SHINING TIME STATION including the Juke Box Puppet Band performing toe-tapping versions of holiday favorites, and a special Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends winter adventure, narrated by Mr. Conductor (played by Ringo Starr).

Trivia

  • This is the only piece of Thomas US media to feature Ringo Starr's narration of Thomas' Christmas Party and Thomas and the Missing Christmas Tree, the latter of which is the UK narration with lines mentioning The Fat Controller omitted.

Goofs

  • The back cover of the 1997 version features a photo from Thomas and Percy's Mountain Adventure, but that story isn't featured in the special.
  • The 1993 KidVision release still displays the A*Vision Entertainment logo.
  • Although Thomas' Christmas Party replaces Terence the Tractor as the first story, the references to the latter remain, except for Mr. Conductor's line, "See? With the help of Terence..."
  • The back covers misspell Vickie's name as "Vicki".
