Billy's Party is the seventh episode of the third season and overall the forty-eighth episode of Shining Time Station.

Plot

It's Thanksgiving and Billy is very busy. He plans on spending his Thanksgiving with a group that calls themselves The Boomers and the Hobos: railroad workers and nomads who gather for the holiday, and have invited Billy to be their guest of honor.

Despite his efforts to leave for the celebration, Billy finds himself tending to one crisis after another. First, he has to fix an old broken train and get it running for the extra crowds. Then, he has to drive Ginny to a nearby town to help her buy a pre-cooked replacement turkey, as her troublemaking dog has destroyed her original one. Then he has to catch up a train, that took off with Schemer on it, and get him back, so he can get home to his own mother.

All of this causes him to miss the last train out of the station, and it seems like he'll be spending Thanksgiving alone. However, at the last minute, everyone comes back to the station opting to spend Thanksgiving together with him.

Ginny: "Yeah well this time he's really gone and done it. I took the turkey outta the oven. and he's lookin' at it like a pointer. and I thought: that's kinda cute. when all of a sudden, he lunged, attacked, ran out the back door with it and tore it to shreds."
Stacy (off screen): "Ohhhhhhh!"
Ginny: "And now, I don't have a turkey."
Kara: "Mr. Filthy is a bad dog."
Ginny: "From now on, his new name is Mr. Get Outta There. Oh what am I gonna do? my nephew and his wife are coming for dinner."
Stacy: "Oh. you know something?"
Ginny: "What?"
Stacy: "There's a place in Dillylick that has pre-cooked turkeys. and I'm sure they're open for at least another half an hour."
Ginny: "Oh. I can't make it to Dillylick."
Billy: "Well you could if I took you there."
Ginny: "You'd do that for me?"
Billy: "Sure."
Ginny: "Oh come on. let's go. time's a wastin'."

Thomas and Percy's Mountain Adventure

Thomas: Driver says there's lots of mail for the village. I'll need an extra car for it all.

Mr. Conductor: Percy was feeling left out.

Percy: It's not fair, you're not leaving any mail for me.

Thomas' Driver: There's been a change of plans. Sir Topham Hatt needs us at the big station. Percy, you are to take Thomas' train to the village.

Thomas: I won't be able to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends.

Percy: Don't worry. I'll do it for you.

Thomas: It's not the same. [leaves]

Percy's Driver: What's that?

[a fogman is seen down the line, holding a red light]

Fogman: The village is cutoff by the snow. We need snowplows, workmen and a helicopter. Leave your cars in the sidings and go back quickly.

[later, at the airfield]

Percy: Peep, peep! Wake up, lazy-wings, the mountain villagers need your help. They're stranded.

Harold: Whizzo! I like an emergency to keep me warm. [leaves to the rescue the villagers]

Percy: Now, what's next? [sees Thomas with Terence and a works train.]

Thomas: Come on, Percy. Follow me.

Narrator: The two engines battled their way through the snow.

[after the village is saved]

Villagers: Well done, Percy. Well done, Thomas.

Thomas: Percy, I just remembered. Your mail train is still back at the siding, isn't it?

[As Percy left to collect the mail train from a siding, Toby and Henrietta arrive.]

Toby: We've brought lots of hot drinks and food for the villagers.

Narrator (Mr. C): When the engines woke next morning, they could not believe their eyes. The sheds have been repainted and decorated. The engines whistled in delight and everyone agreed that it was really a Happy Thanksgiving.

This is the only Thanksgiving episode, and oddly it even aired in April instead of November.
Becky and Kara reference two other holidays, Christmas and New Year's Eve.
Old Reliable, Cloggyville Express, and Old Dependable were mentioned.
The locomotive Billy drove in this episode later appears in one other episode, Billy's Runaway Train and the special, Queen for a Day.
