Billy Saves the Day is the sixth episode of the third season and overall the forty-seventh episode of Shining Time Station.
Plot
Felix organizes a concert. The kids rehearse with instruments, Schemer does a rap song, and Billy performs a folk song.

- In their attempts to enter the concert, Schemer and Schemee dress up as Rapper M.C. Hammer to try a rap song and Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash to try a hard rock song.
- While the Thomas story for this episode was "A New Friend for Thomas", dialogue from Mr. Conductor both before and after the story suggests that it was supposed to have been "Saved from Scrap" instead. Before the story, Mr. C mentions how Trevor the Traction Engine was both "fixed up" and "wasn't completely happy", and after the story, he mentions how Trevor "feels good when he's making other people happy, especially children," and "gives children rides". Trevor being unhappy, fixed up, and liking to give children rides were all more prominently featured in "Saved from Scrap" than "A New Friend for Thomas".
