Freight Train is an American railway folk song written by Elizabeth Cotten in the early 20th Century. Elizabeth composed the song in her teen years (assumingly 1901-1902) inspired by the many sounds of steam trains in her hometown in North Carolina. It is sung by The Jukebox Band in the Season 1 episode, Show and Yell. The band try to play the song to Matt to cheer up him, but Tito Swing was in his room counting his nickels. They attempt to play the song to no avail, none of the band members except Tito knew the song. They later remember the song and perform it without Tito. It was also planned to appear on the unreleased video, A Jukebox Hoedown, where the band performed it at the request of a customer. The performance went so well that the band decided to play another song, setting off the plot of the video.

Freight Train, Freight Train run so fast
Freight Train, Freight Train run so fast
Please don't tell what train I'm on
and they won't know what route I'm going.
When I've died lorde, bury me deep
Way down on old Chestnut street
so I can hear old Number 9
She comes rollin' by.
Freight Train, Freight Train run so fast
Freight Train, Freight Train run so fast
Please don't tell what train I'm on
they won't know what route I'm going.
Run so fast! Here I come, look out!
