The Nickelaire Club is a club mentioned in Schemer's Special Club. It was founded by Mr. Hobart Hume I. Eventually he retired or died, and his son Hobart Hume II presumably became president of the Club. By 1993, his grandson, Hobart Hume III was president of the club. In the episode, Schemer's Special Club, Schemer wants to join the club but after learning from Hobart Hume III what the club was really about and that Hume wouldn't allow his friends to join, (and that he'd have to cut off his trademark curl to join himself) Schemer decided not to join the club and kicked Hume out of the station.
According to Hume, the purpose of the club was nothing more to provide a Haven from the rest of the world and that its members were the desserts of the world, and the rest of were merely left overs! He also stated that only high-class white men were allowed to join the club and not women, children, or people of different cultures. It was mentioned by Stacy Jones that her grandmother Gracie Jones, had tried to join the club but, despite her honorable reputation, and high status in the community as a hardworking and beloved station manager, she was denied admission simply because she was a woman.
